Still Locked

Still nothing from Target on my locked account. It’s fine. It’s fine! They locked it on a Sunday; nothing is going to get fixed on a Sunday. Then Monday was a federal holiday. So we won’t worry. Even though some of the things I was including with care packages are now on clearance and will probably sell out before I can order again. It’s fine! We won’t think about it!

I HAVE heard from Target on other topics:

This is the first batch of care packages! Or rather, this is a bunch of individually-wrapped items from the first batch of care packages: notice how many of those emails say that “Your item” (singular) is out for delivery today. If you receive a box with, like, one or two items in it, that is not your entire care package, it is one of what will apparently be quite a few installments of your care package! If you chose for someone else to receive the package, you may want to let them know that this is the way it’s going down.

Oh! Speaking of which: IF AN ITEM ARRIVES BROKEN OR BADLY DAMAGED, do let me know. I can see how that would be an awkward thing to decide what to do about, so I am telling you ahead of time: DO LET ME KNOW. I can think of few things as disheartening as having a cruddy Valentine’s Day, and looking forward to a comforting care package, and then having the care package arrive and things inside are broken/ruined/unusable. We have had situations such as a jar of pesto leaked, a bag of chips exploded, a mug broken, a bag of rice exploded, a bag of GROUND COFFEE EXPLODED AND COATING EVERY BLESSED THING. These things happen, and Target is good about sending replacement items. You may have to wipe and sweep coffee grounds off everything, but at least you will get a new bag of coffee.

This is SO exciting! But RIP your inbox.

Also I would like to SECOND your suggestion that people speak up about a broken/damaged item. I sent a gift to my niece from Target for Christmas and when she opened it, all the things inside the box were broken. It was SO EASY for me to go to the Target website and click “damaged item” and “send me a new one.” And of course I wanted my niece to have a workable, intact gift! They shipped a replacement immediately and it arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

Swistle, your gals will wait for you. And Target. And I think every gal on that list will find it delightfully amusing to be surprised by one or two things at a time. It adds to the fun for all of us, including those of us reading about it on the blog from the sidelines.

I got my package(s) today! Unlike my usual boring Target orders, this was seriously fun to open and unpack all the love. I don’t want to spoil anyone’s else’s fun by disclosing what was in mine except to say I got the one thing I was really hoping to get (hint: I can drink hot beverages from it). While I love everything, this made me especially happy. THANK YOU so much Swistle and donor — such a shiny, bright spot in my day, week, month, year…

Wheee…just as I was reading this post today, guess what showed up on my doorstep? Three Target boxes! I have not opened anything yet, I’m just enjoying having the boxes and being excited about the possible goodies! In the midst of this long pandemic and plenty of winter weather here, this has been a bright spot. Great idea, Swistle!

Oh man. We did a coffee fundraiser last winter and a few of the bags arrived with small splits in them, which of course we didn’t realize until we had unpacked them all and kept finding little mystery piles of coffee grounds everywhere.
At least the orchestra classroom smelled nice for a while.

It’s here! I had a stack of THREE(!) boxes on my porch, and the contents were SO lovely. There were some things inside that are just for me, and a few things that are going to be really fun and nice to share with my kids. Let me just say that they are going to be ENTHUSED about the particular hot drink mix received. It has been so fun and nice to have this to look forward to, and to then to receive things that I just wouldn’t treat myself to. Thank you to EVERYONE who put this generosity and kindness out into the universe during a tough time.

I got two boxes yesterday and was so stoked. Then another one showed up today that I was not expecting at all! This whole thing made my month/year, etc. Everything is perfect and so wonderful.

My packages came today, too! It was so fun to open the three different packages not knowing what goodies were inside. And everything was perfect! My mom and I enjoyed dividing the items! Thanks again for this ray of sunshine in the polar vortex of never ending cold we are having up north.

Swistle is definitely the best. I got things that I didn’t even know EXISTED that are perfect for me (and my kids), as well as one thing that is already a #1 favorite of mine!

Ditto! I am loving everything except Swistle’s Target account being locked/complicated.

I mean, the week so far: a 36-hour migraine complete with vomiting and dry-heaving, an increasingly bewildering spate of joint pain/dysfunction, and a frozen bathtub drain, but these reports might help this actually average out to not a bad week! I love so much that people are getting Joyous Surprise Target Mail!
