Love Via Things That Can Be Bought/Eaten

Q: How much do I love our new cat?
A: SO MUCH!

Q: Enough to buy him a large pink cat nest and put it in a sunbeam?
A:

Q: Does he have a name yet?
A: No.

Q: Any guesses?
A: Kip, short for Kissmerighthereonthiswhitenosespot, my favorite write-in suggestion (by Ramona).

Q: Are we driving a full half-hour to a physical Old Navy store just to see if they have a dinosaur swimsuit in size 3T?
A: Yes.

Q: Are we also having lunch at Taco Bell for the SOLE REASON that a 4-year-old boy was weeping prostrate on the floor yesterday at the news that two of his brothers had had Taco Bell when he had not?
A: Yes.

Q: Is that probably a bad plan, parenting-precedent-wise?
A: Maybe, but I will get to eat tacos.

Q: Do I have butter softening RIGHT NOW for making Oatmeal Scotchies later?
A: YEAH BABY.

Q: Is Easter candy the best candy of the whole year?
A: Are you kidding me? Cadbury eggs, Cadbury mini-eggs, Reese’s peanut butter eggs!

Q: Is there going to be a dieting post soon?
A: Coincidentally, yes.

Ah Easter candy….I especially love those Cadbury Creme Eggs that they only sell at this time of the year. UN-fortunately, they don’t sell them in my country. So I spend Easter trying to forget they exist. *sigh*

*I* want a cozy pink bed, placed in a sunbeam, thankyouverymuch. I love your new cat too, and I’m also thinking of him now as “Kip”.

You get over worrying about “precedents” so much, don’t you? That is the gift of being a seasoned parent: CLARITY about what really matters. So your 4 yr old wants some tacos. So? Also, Mmmmmm tacos.

I rarely (never?) comment, but I saw those dinosaur trunks at Old Navy yesterday and IMMEDIATELY thought of your Henry! I hope you can find them!

I second the “Mmmmmm tacos” comment from Marie Green. Also, (you probably have but I gotta ask) have you checked OldNavy.com for the suit? I routinely shop their website because it is really cool.

BIG NO to the Cadbury eggs – stuff in middle = creepy. Plus, not eating them leaves SO! MUCH! ROOM! for awesomeness of Easter Egg Reeses (=dying and going to heaven). SO BLEEPING GOOD! The best proportion of peanut butter:chocolate of all of the holiday Reeses! Can’t do the mini ones, either, MUST HAVE THE REGULAR SIZE. Best invention EV-AH.

maybe you could call the nearest old navy and ask them if they have it. then they will hold it for you if they do, and if they don’t it will save you an hour of driving. I know you don’t like phones, but I’m sure you like saving time!

I miss Dove Truffle Eggs. They were so wonderful. I can’t seem to find them anymore.

I am lusting over your furry, sweet, sleeping kitty. Bliss!

Oh, things that can be bought/eaten are such a wonderful source of love. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.

Have you put your Cadbury Creme Eggs in the freezer yet? Try it — divine.

While I was very partial to Archie for the kitty, I think with Ramona’s suggestion I may have been officially won over.

Also, coconut-filled Hershey’s kisses. You’d think these would be just really small bite-sized Almond Joys, but they’re BETTER and CREAMIER and they only come out at Easter. Oh so good.

Yummy Taco Bell and definitely the Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs. I remember missing out on a trip to the zoo when I was 4 and I cried; never did get the trip. I still remember that so I say take your 4 year old.

    I loved this post…very entertaining.

I’m ashamed to admit, that despite having just finished a giant chocolate cupcake, your mention of Cadbury Creme Eggs reminded me that there is Easter Candy hidden in my closet right now. AND there are creme eggs among the bounty. The temptation is damn near overwhelming….

I have eaten an embarrassing number of creme eggs already this year. That number is easily more than 20.

New Cat is so cute that I think I WILL kiss him on his nose, thank you very much.
