Swistle’s Lunch–Because I Think You Do In Fact Care

Really good sandwich: a “hearty” bread (quotes to indicate that it should be the kind that looks nutritious by being full of lots of little bits, rather than the kind that is actually nutritious and doesn’t taste good), deli turkey, Caesar dressing, lettuce, and white corn tortilla chips to add salt and crunch. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Man, I am bummed about this trend of not talking about what you had for lunch, because if there’s one thing I DO care about…it’s food.

I think the tipping point on this sandwich was the corn chips. Good call.

Oh – can we all share? It’s such a random thing.

My lunch consisted of peaches and salad. Sounds healthy, right? Under normal circumstances, it would have something more like a spoonful of chocolate frosting and 2 frozen pork tamales, but we’re leaving town tomorrow and if we don’t eat all the fresh stuff we have to throw it out, and I hate throwing food out.

That sounds like a good sandwich, and I love to hear what other people had for lunch. Or dinner, or anytime. Share, share.

I had some leftover spagehtti (not good, surprisingly, no flavor) and a peach and a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich. I was at my parents for a quick lunch break from work. I cant complain when it is free.

We do care! That sandwich sounds YUMMY.

I had leftover lasagna which, I’m so proud of myself, I froze before it got too old in little individual portions to take to work. Score me!

It was yummy, too. Dessert was some green grapes. :)

*Looking all dreamy* I had grilled chicken in garlic sauce and creamy parmesany spinach… Everyone turns and looks at me like I sprouted a new head… It was a Lean Cuisine.

    Lunch? What’s that?

10:12 AM – Leftover chicken ranchero pasta salad, as had no breakfast.

10:26 AM – Granita. HUGE-O-GINORMOUS mistake. Me and caffiene don’t get along so well and I am currently suicidal/homocidal/hyped up on caffeine. Yes, still.

12:23 PM – Chocolate chip cookie.

2:59 PM – Hot dog with mustard and ketchup.

No wonder I need to diet. Pass the “hearty” bread, please.

mmm, I love chips on a sammie

Turkey and Tomato on “hearty” bread with honey mustard would be my sandwich of choice. #2 Ham on a kaiser roll with mayo and plain potato chips. MMMMMMM.

**Drooling now as I am on day 2 of eating well and working out. I want some of those minty cookies too.

But today, I had lean cuisine, dijon chicken with green beans almondine, an apple and a piece of cheese. I also brought celery to nibble on and forgot to wash it. So I’m convinced it tastes like pesticides.

Needless to say, I am starving.

    YUMMY.

How do you do it? You make a mean sandwich, run, and raise five kids.

Now, whenever I need some motivation for whatever task needs doing, I just think, “Swistle.”

I had a spinach enchilada made with whole wheat tortillas and part-skim cheese and some baked shrimp in lemon sauce. I have been doing this Weight Watchers thing for seven weeks and I am seeing great results, which helps me stay determined in the face of greasy office catering.

Speaking of trying to stay healthy, I did the first day of Week Two yesterday. It wasn’t as bad as I had expected but I am somewhat terrified about the three minutes of running looming in Week Three. I’m just trying not to think about it until I get there.

I had a lovely leftover for lunch. Flatbread with pesto, sundried tomato, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts and feta sprinkled on top, broiled in the oven so the feta gets a little melty. MMMMM!

It turns out I care what YOU had for lunch, too!

    Hello Insomnia– HAHA!

El-e-e– If it is fruit, it does not call itself “dessert.” Try again with some mint chocolate-chip cookies.

Christina– Send jam so I can eat entire jar in one sitting kthanx.

JMC– HA HA! I hate those stupid commercials!

Artemisia– Also, I baked another batch of mint chocolate-chip cookies. I am Swistle-Ra, Princess of Power!

Jess– My sandwich sounds yummier. Also, I don’t know if I can face Week 3. That is too big a leap from Week 2.

Jonniker– Yes, ON the sandwich. Delish.

I really don’t think a sammich is complete if it doesn’t have chips on it. Good call.

I had Trader Joes mini-tacos that *almost* agree with me. I shall spare you the details.

Oh, that sounds so yummy. I didn’t eat much breakfast today and it’s mid-morning. I, too, care what everyone else had for lunch. :) After reading about all the yummy things people had, I decided egg salad sounds good for later today. Someone mentioned boiled egg. So, I’m boiling eggs for it right now. Thanks ladies. Guess I’ll have a decent lunch today. :D
